I upgraded Mythbuntu to 10.10 Maverick Meerkat. I think that's a big mistake, in hindsight. My 5500's sound (analog, routed from line out of 5500 to line in of my sound card) stopped working.
I think this is related to them dropping support for OSS (i.e. /dev/dsp) entirely in Maverick.
So, what are my options here? Is there anything easier than re-compiling a kernel? Is there anything that pcHDTV can endorse?
If not, I think I'll be formatting and going back to Lucid / LTS and sticking with it till the next LTS. |

HI I have a pchdtv 5500 card and have had the same problem with ntsc signal,s from my direct tv box. ( ie no sound) the way I finally got my card to work was to make a patch cord with a male mini din and two rca plugs which is plugged in to the line in on my sound card directly from the dish box to my sound card. whenever I turn on the box I have sound to stop the sound I just shut off the box.
hope this helps! |
