Ubuntu 7.04, 2.6.20-16-generic kernel. Athlon XP 2100, FX5200, pcHDTV 5500.
I had the normal xine running and was able to tune a single channel with my new 5500 card. I can run tvtime and dtvscan and tune both analog and digital.
I downloaded and built the xine-hd from the main pchdtv website.
But I didn't find xine-hd skin in the setup menu.
I found a xine-hd skin in some other system directory (/usr/share maybe?), but I wasn't sure how to get xine to use that directory. I didn't want to copy it to ~/.xine since i figured that was not the Right Way.
I apt-get removed normal xine and then ran make intall from xine-hd build directory. Didn't work. No xine binary to be found either, even though it seemed to do a lot of installing stuff in places. Maybe it's not supposed to create an actual xine binary?
When I did apt-get install xine-ui again (from the normal non-hd distribution), it installed xine but didn't work at all... completely broken.
Whereas prior to all this I could get it to play HD videos, both with and without xxmc, now it exits and the verbose message says no video output found (!), and the available drivers list is *very* short.
I'm about to go shoot a dog I'm so pissed.
Can anyone help me please? Everything is broken here.
Thanks
