I have a channels.conf generated from the qamscan script, one from each of us-Cable-Standard and us-Cable-IRC, no PSIP data (curse you Rogers!).
So I'm working slowly through 400-odd entries, using mplayer /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0, have several channels, but am getting a strange resolution (528x480) when capturing via cat.
It's a normal MPEG2 file, just with a strange resolution.
HD3250, '+' button until email flashes, press info on front panel, shows frequency, but no luck so far. Some of the HD frequencies listed by the settop box (STB) don't appear in the channels.conf file (HDCBS and HDABC are listed by the STB at 807MHz, but my scan only goes up to 801MHZ).
I haven't hit any HD signals yet, but should, in theory |

I've worked through all the HD channels, I get strong signals for them at the listed frequencies, but can't play any of the output, so I'm guessing everything's encrypted :/
Anyone know if there's a Canadian equivalent to the US rule that says cable companies have to carry local OTA station un-encrypted?
Just in case someone wants to check, here's the HD portion of my channels.conf:
