xine-hd under kernel drivers |

I successfully built xine-hd on 2.6.12-gentoo-r6, but when I click on the 'DTV' button, I get the error that says "There is no input plugin available to handle 'dtv://'. I wondered if it was configured to use the pcHDTV drivers that put the atsc tuner in /dev/dtv, so I made a link to /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvb0, but I still get the same xine error. I've looked in the /usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/1.0.0/ and I do see plugins for dtv and dvb. I'm confused as to what to look at next. I've done a search in this xine-hd forum, but I don't see anything that will resolve the situation. I also tried going into the MRL and choosing /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvb0 manually, but I get the same error. This is a fresh install, so I haven't had a previous version of xine on it. I can also use dvbtraffic and the other new tools and they appear to work.
Anybody have any ideas?
Running:
Gentoo sources 2.6.12 with built in kernel drivers (cx88-dvb)
Athlon XP 2600+
VIA400 chipset
1Gig RAM |

With the dvb drivers which you have you want to use the DVB button and make sure your channels.conf is set correctly. DTV works with the V4L driver.

problem, I don't have a "dvb" button showing?
Ok, I tried dirrectly using the dvb:// MRL, and it seems to work, to a point, except for the fact that this happens locking up xine

If you have the inclination, try grabbing the latest xine from xine-hq (both the lib and ui). Get the dvb-atsc-tools download from pcHDTV. Apply the atsc-patch to xine-lib and make both the lib and UI. That is what I've been doing here. I haven't touched xine-hd since the patch.

Sounds like a plan
Ok, that seems to be somewhat working, I think my problem now my lye in the fact that it can't lock onto a signal, so Im going to look into antena placement and whatnot. see if I can get that figured out.
Ok, basicly, 2 out of the 4 channels I can find using the scaning program lock on right now, but none of them seem to be in a usable state. |
