I've put the channels.conf file I created with scan (dtvscan detected my channels but wouldn't create a channels.conf) in ~/.xine. But when I run xine and click on DVB, it pops up an error saying it ...

I see what my mistake was. I was selecting PCHDTV 2000/3000 (which uses /dev/video) and I should have selected Digital Video Broadcast, the second type below HD2000.

I've gotten my HD2000 card working under FC4 with the DVB drivers, and I can record programs using azap and then catting the device like so:

azap -r KCBS-DT
cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 > /usr3/v ...

I'm running Fedora Core 4 Test 2 on my PVR box and it's looking good. I did the rmmods and the modprobe, then looked in /dev and there dvb/adapter0 was. Smile Didn't have to compile any drivers at all. ...

There's a new Fedora Core 3 kernel that just came out. Does this kernel have the new DVB support for the HD-3000?

Here are the usual HD-3000 modules:

I did a reboot and that fixed it. Had to run minstall again though cause the dtv devices were gone. Someone should add to the FAQ how to get those created on boot.

Also, every time I reboot I have to run the "minstall" script otherwise /dev/dtv doesn't exist.

I just replaced my motherboard (went from crappy ECS to cool Abit) and the PCHDTV situation has improved, but not to the point it's working. Before I got no signal at all, now I get about 30% signal ...

I got a Grandtec HiVision 2-VGA to HDTV Converter which works great. It does component video out, which is what my HDTV has for input. It was $150 though.

I've got the 3000 installed on a Fedora Core 3 system and I get no signal reported from dtvsignal and dtvscan. dmesg spews this:

Solveed my own problem, I didn't have the drivers installed. Though I do have a seperate issue with the drivers that I'll post in the appropriate place...
